| I have an electric stove top and electric oven. I know we can "cook" on Yontif, but (especially with Shabbos following, immediately) I do not know the intricacies of turning the oven/stove on, off, up, down. I know I can make an eruv tavshillin, but am not sure what that allows me to do. There's a lot more where those questions came from! |

Yes, there are a lot of intracacies when cooking on the Yom Tov holiday, especially with an electric oven (which is more of an issue than gas). An eruv tavshilin allows you to cook and prepare on a Friday Yom Tov for Shabbos the next day. But you would still need to adhere to all the rules of Yom Tov cooking.
